Our team of dentists, hygienists, therapists, front office and clinical coordinators, receive extensive, ongoing professional development and training to ensure they always deliver the highest standard of care.

DR ANDREW ABEYSINGHE

about Andrew

Andrew was born in London, but migrated to Melbourne in his infant years. He graduated from The School of Dental Science at Melbourne University in 2008 and during his five years of clinical practice there, he provided dental services for patients at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and various community clinics in Melbourne, Shepparton and Darwin.

Andrew has been part of the Hastings Family Dental Care team since February 2009 and became the Principal Dentist in May 2015. He is a firm believer in preventative and conservative dentistry. He also enjoys aesthetic dentistry, with a special interest in restoring smiles and veneering.
In his spare time, Andrew is spending time with his family. He is also a keen sportsman especially with cricket, golf and AFL, and is a diehard West Coast fan.

DR TOM FEEHELY

about Tom

Tom was born and raised in Cork, Ireland. He gained his BDS from the University College Cork in 1990. Having worked in the UK for a couple of years, Tom migrated to Australia in the early 90’s. Having worked in northern NSW and country Victoria Tom settled on the Mornington Peninsula and he bought his first practice in Blairgowrie. Tom gained his graduate certificate in dentistry from the University of Adelaide in 2001.

Seeking new pastures, Tom sold his practice and with his family moved back to Ireland in 2002. They returned in 2005. Tom obtained his Fellowship from the International College of Continuing Dental Education in May 2009. He is passionate about all aspects of dentistry and embraces new ideas and technology.

Tom has four kids and they enjoy spending time together at the local footy club, theatre, comedy shows and family dinners.

DR JAMES FERNANDO

about James

James was born in Melbourne and studied at the University of Melbourne. He graduated with Honours and was awarded the Mervyn Townsend Prize for Orthodontics. He joined Hastings Family Dental Care in February 2010. During his early years at the practice, James visited Cambodia twice as a volunteer
providing dental treatment for disadvantaged children. He and his nurse Liz were granted this opportunity through the M’Lop Tapang organisation. Toothbrushes and toothpastes were generously donated for the Cambodian children from a local school near Hastings Family Dental Care.

James has experience in all fields of dentistry, with a special interest in preventive dentistry and dry mouth care. Outside of work, he enjoys playing the guitar and is a keen fan of Liverpool Football Club. In 2018, James completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne that focuses on tooth remineralisation and the prevention of tooth decay. He is a previous chair of the ADA Victoria Oral Health Committee and a Senior Lecturer at the Melbourne Dental School. James also treats patients who experience dry mouth at the Oral Medicine Department of the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne. Due to these commitments,
James works at Hastings one day a week though very much enjoys being part of the Hastings Family Dental Care team.

DR SUE ANNE KOH

about Sue Anne

Sue Anne was born in Malaysia, but moved to Melbourne during her high school years. She graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Melbourne University in 2020. Before settling at Hastings Family Dental Care, she worked in both community health and private clinics across Geelong, Colac, Moe, and Cobram.

Sue Anne has a gentle and caring nature, and aims to make each dental appointment as comfortable as possible. She has a keen interest in preventive dentistry and gum health, focusing on helping patients achieve and maintain long-term oral well-being.

She often attends continuous professional development courses as she firmly believes in ongoing learning to ensure her patients are always cared for in the best possible way. 

Outside dentistry, Sue Anne enjoys playing the piano, scrapbooking, listening to true crime podcasts and travelling.

DR IAN WONG

about Ian

Born and raised in Melbourne, Ian graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2020 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery. 

Since graduating, he has built a breadth of clinical experience across diverse settings, from rural practice in Alexandra to metro clinics in Hastings and Doncaster.
Ian has a strong interest in both general and restorative dentistry, with a particular focus on aesthetic treatments. 
He is known for his caring and calm approach to tailoring dental care to suit each patient’s individual goals, ensuring outcomes that are both functional and aesthetic.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Wong enjoys discovering new restaurants, taking care of his cheeky pomeranian Meeko, and exploring new destinations with his partner.

Dr Huy Thien Do

about Huy

Huy was born and raised in Melbourne, growing up in the South Eastern suburbs. He graduated from Melbourne Uni Dental School in 2020, servicing regional and rural communities of Geelong, Moe and Cobram. He has since settled at Hastings Family Dental Care in 2023 and enjoys providing care to the community with the help of his amazing team.

Huy has a special interest in Aesthetic and Endodontic (Root Canal treatment) procedures as he finds the challenge to perfection very rewarding. He has attended several courses in complex planning, cosmetic, orthodontic (clear aligners) and restorative procedures to ensure his patients are comprehensively cared for.

In his spare time, he likes to play tennis and badminton, sample new restaurants and making sure his dog (a gorgeous Corgi) Tofu is well looked after.

Dr Jessley Ah-Kion

about Jessley

Dr. Jessley graduated from James Cook University, where he developed a strong foundation in all aspects of general dentistry. With a genuine passion for helping people feel at ease, Dr. Jessley believes a dental visit should be as relaxed and enjoyable as possible — often filled with friendly conversation and a good laugh.

Known for a caring approach and an easygoing nature, Dr. Jessley takes the time to get to know each patient, ensuring every visit is comfortable and stress-free for nervous patients and those alike. Whether it’s a routine check-up or a more involved treatment, patients appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and personal touch Dr. Jessley brings to the dental chair.

When not in the clinic, you’ll often find Dr. Jessley enjoying a good meal with friends, watching the NBA or the tennis, or simply having a good laugh.
